EN388:2016+A1:2018 - Mechanical Hazards
Protection against mechanical hazards in respect of physical and mechanical stress caused by abrasion, blade cut, tear and puncture. The table below indicates the glove’s resistance to:
4 = Abrasion
X = Blade Cut* (coup)
4 = Tear
2 = Puncture
E = Straight Blade Cut (EN ISO 13997)
NOTES:
Where 1 indicates the lowest performance. X that the test was not performed or not possible. A 0 rating indicates that during the test level 1 was not reached.
*Gloves should not be used when working with serrated blades

Who this glove was designed for
Operatives who require a high level of cut resistance and grip in wet and oily conditions
Why we developed this glove
Working closely with our customer in Europe, they expressed a need for a single glove that covered all three requirements, high cut resistance, good grip, suitable for wet and oily conditions.
Their solution had been to use a glove designed for dry work and place a disposable nitrile underneath for waterproofing. This was an insufficient solution because when a ‘dry work’ cut resistant glove is in contact with oil, the performance of the cut resistant yarns is significantly reduced and the overall level of cut resistance drop by 2 or more levels.
The solution
The RX565 was developed with three layers of protection, a lining for cut protection, a ‘nitrile barrier’ for waterproofing and a of ‘sandy nitrile’ coating for grip and oil resistance.
