GLOVE STORY
Who this glove was designed for
For operatives who need to have high impact and cut protection but without restriction of movement in their hands and fingers. The RX589 has been developed for optimum comfort, functionality, durability, and protection.
Why we developed this glove
Traditionally, impact gloves have been comprised of larger ‘blocks’ of impact protection that often stop at the knuckle to allow movement of the hand, making the knuckles very vulnerable to injuries. These larger blocks, which are usually sewn onto the liner, also impair the movement of the wearers fingers and hands, making it harder to do tasks and can cause irritation. The method of sewing them on also decreases durability and overall longevity of the glove.
The solution
The RX589 combines a lightweight, 18-gauge liner that has maximum cut resistance (index F), with full impact (level 2 across whole back of hand) protection that has fluorescent individual modular impact pads for better flexibility and visibility.
These modular pads are also injection molded directly onto the cut resistant liner which reduces irritability for the wearer and extends the life of the glove.
Glove feedback
“These new impact gloves have already saved us a black finger and we have only been trialing them a week.”
“I agree these glove are well designed and suited for, I would say also, specifically slingers. We don’t have the army of slingers here at HAL so even with the higher end cost of these high end spec’ed gloves, our costs would be easily justifiable as we only have approx. 7no. slingers at any given time. But, the protection afforded to them should more than sufficient, especially in winter with the odd chain or shackle making contact with the top of hand whilst slinging.”
“A remarkable impact glove, it’s the flexibility which has impressed our guys and it has lasted 6x longer than our average. A huge improvement, the feedback has only been positive.”
